Tata, TRAD Japan and Mitshubishi to set up an automotive R&D center in Pune

Tata Toyo Radiators (Tata Toyo), a joint venture between Tata AutoComp Systems (Tata AutoComp), TRAD, Japan and Mitsubishi Metals, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) centre in Pune.

“Tata Toyo has always been the front-runner in offering cutting-edge heat exchange technologies to its customers. This R&D centre will further enhance the capabilities of Tata Toyo and help it serve its customers better. The aim is to ensure that technology that comes out of this R&D centre is that which is developed in India, for the customers in India,” said RS Thakur, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp. Tata Toyo Radiator Limited manufactures aluminium-based radiators, inter coolers, heater cores and exhaust gas recharge systems. The key customers of Tata Toyo include Ashok Leyland, Fiat, Force Motors, John Deer, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mahindra-Navistar, Man Force and Tata Motors.

With the new R&D center, Tata Toyo Radiators will expand it’s product portfolio and enhance its offering to the Indian automotive market.
