How to ensure global as well as local space for grassroots innovators?
India is a hotbed of inventions, much of it is based on informal science. By blending it with excellence in formal science, one could expand global, national and local space for grassroots inventors and innovators to ensure recognition, respect and reward for them. The speaker will also touch upon ethical issues in conservation and prospecting of biodiversity, how to link innovations, investments and enterprise and create Knowledge Network at different levels for augmenting grassroots green innovations and build a global value chain to get the creativity its due.
About the speaker – Anil Gupta
Considered as one of the fifty most influential people in the world in the field of intellectual property rights around the world, Prof Anil Gupta has been working with and for grassrooot innovators in the remote corners of India. At the same time. Prof Gupta is adjudged and awarded best teacher in management from one of the best management schools in the world: IIM Ahmadabad. Prof Gupta has established Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions (SRISTI) and Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network, two voluntary organization to support, scale up and convert grassroots innovations into viable products. Helped set up the National Innovation Foundation assisted by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to make India innovative and creative society and a global leader in sustainable technologies. He is currently Coordinator, SRISTI and Executive Vice Chair, National Innovation Foundation.
